Donated Salary
Missed this in the Southern last month. According to the article, Mayor Cole donates his entire mayoral salary to charity. Wonder if he'll continue to do that if he gets the Alumni Director position?

As I understand it, its a moot point. Whether or not Hiz Honor thought he was paying for the position with the $20 mil., the university went in a different direction. The question I have is if its *because* of the donation or not. Of course, they'll say the woman was the best candidate -- she may well be, I don't know -- but that doesn't mean anything. Why they would even put themselves in a position to have these questions raised shows the fundamental problems we see at SIU anyway.
