Varsity sequel

The Southern reports: Varsity Theatre gets new lease on life:
"A ceremonial signing has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday in Room 103 at city hall. Members of The [Jackson County] Stage Company will unlock theater doors and take a peak after the signing."

Comments:
I'm still not clear who owns the darn thing though, the city or the Stage Company.

The stage co. owns it.

The bad news is they now own a money pit and will not generate enough money to cover the bills. The building is worth more dead than alive. Would be different, if SIU wasn't full of well maintained theaters. The real question is how soon they will be bankrupt.
