Kroger West to Close
Heard a rumor of this over the weekend and the store now has a sign on its front doors announcing reduced hours and October 30 as the last day of operation.

More money that will be leaving town and going to Murphysboro when the new Wal-Mart opens.

When shopping there last weekend, an employee told me that it was indeed closing due to the Wal-Mart, for fear that they would lose more money in the long run...although he said "you didn't hear that from me..."
What a shame. It is nice to be able to run to the west store if something is needed...
