Bus Depot

Nice article by Caleb Hale in Thursday's Southern on Dave More's opening a Greyhound ticket office on N. Washington and lobbying the C'dale Planning commission to move the bus arrival space to in front of the office. I was especially struck by this paragraph:

"Members recently rejected his proposal on grounds it may disrupt other businesses in the area and brought up concerns the building lacks an adequate shelter area for passengers."

The shelter area I can understand and the current arrival spot in front of the Amtrak station is much better designed so as not to impede the flow of traffic, but what other businesses could it disrupt? If memory serves me correctly, the only businesses on that block are D's Catfish Quick Stop, Town Square Market, and the WDBX station, all of which are on the corner and thus not likely to have business interfered with by bus arrivals.
